About the Event

Join us for this special Sundowners networking happy hour and learn about the newly inaugurated President William Lai, his new government, and the implications for Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region.

About this month's featured speaker and topic:

Following the recent Taiwanese presidential inauguration, we have invited Reuters Taiwan Bureau Chief Ben Blanchard to share his observations on President William Lai, his new government, and the implications for Taiwan and the region.

Ben is one of Taiwan's most senior and well-connected foreign journalists. He joined Reuters in 2003 as a company news reporter in Shanghai before transferring to Beijing in 2005 to work on the political and diplomatic file. Ben became the Reuters Taiwan Bureau Chief in 2019 and has covered four Taiwanese presidential elections.
