ANZCham took 35 Executives on a journey cycling the mountains of western Taiwan travelling to the past from the modern capital Taipei to the historical capital of Tainan donating money to Charities along the way.
This is the third annual Charity Bike Ride, hosted by ANZCham, which takes our members and friends to rural areas to experience the local culture and natural beauty of Taiwan and give back to the place where we live and love.
This year our journey started in the modern metropolis of Taipei and we travelled through Hsinchu, Fengyuan, Douliu, Nanxi, and ended in the historical capital Tainan - cycling 450km+ over 5 days.
Along the way, we visited branches of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF) in Fengyuan (台中北區家中心) and Yunlin (雲林家扶中心) and thanks to our sponsors donated NT$200,000 to support underprivileged youth and families in the region.
We would like to give a special thanks to the Yunlin County Government Deputy Magistrate Hsieh (雲林副縣長謝淑亞副縣長) who joined us at the Yunlin TFCF to thank us for our donation and support of Yunlin County.
Gary Cowan, Representative of the Australian Office in Taipei commented that he thoroughly enjoyed the ride through Yunlin which was relatively flat and a welcome rest from the mountains of the previous day.
Thank you to our sponsors whom without this event would not be possible, including premium sponsor:
ANZ Bank 澳盛銀行 (ANZ Australia | ANZ New Zealand)
and our event sponsors:
ANZCham and our sponsors are committed to supporting the local community that we love.
