Demand for green energy to support Taiwan’s tech-intensive economy is huge. While ambitions for the transition to clean energy are high, it is also crucial to ensure energy independence and resilience.

At Baseload Power Taiwan, we develop geothermal energy. It’s a renewable source of homegrown power that is always on, 24/7, regardless of the weather, season, or time of day. In this way, we complement other clean energy sources like solar and wind.

As the first and, so far, only international geothermal developer in Taiwan, we have unique opportunities to shape the future energy landscape. Backed by long-term, committed owners, we bring technology, knowledge, and best practices from the international geothermal community that we are part of.

Working closely and respectfully with local communities, we spread knowledge about geothermal energy while taking an active role in shaping the laws and regulations for geothermal development in Taiwan.

Our development process, based on internationally proven methods, starts with identifying hot water sources. Then, we lease or purchase the sites, obtain permits, and build and commission geothermal power plants. Our goal is to bring energy resilience and business opportunities to local communities while contributing to Taiwan’s net-zero targets and the objective of 6 GW of geothermal installed capacity by 2050.
