Hiring - Executive Director

The Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (ANZCham) is currently seeking an Executive Director. ANZCham has been running in some form since 1991 to promote the Australia/New Zealand and Taiwan relationship by providing opportunities for business networking, information sharing and social contacts among its members and the broader community.

We are looking for a self motivated and results driven individual who gets things done and has a passion for the Australian, New Zealand, Taiwan relationship. The office is based in the Australian Office Taipei and you will be managing one Taiwanese staff member and occasionally may also be required to manage interns. This position includes a wide range of responsibilities including but not limited to:

  1. Event Calendar – the organization, sponsorship and staging of various social, charity and business-orientated events, with the assistance of the Board and other members.

  2. Sponsorship and Membership Development – Recruiting new sponsors/members while maintaining ongoing communication with the current sponsors and membership.

  3. Communications – Devising media strategies to promote the Chamber and sponsors across Chamber events. Updating the Chamber’s website and social media, together with producing email newsletters to members.

  4. External Liaison – communication with the Australian Office, New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office and with other Chambers of Commerce, government authorities, media and community stakeholders as needed.

  5. Meetings and Reports – attendance at meetings of Chamber Sub-Committees, organizing and taking minutes at the Chamber’s bi-monthly Board meetings and Annual General Meeting, preparation of monthly financial reports to the Treasurer and Chairman, and statutory reports to Taipei City Government.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in English with competent Mandarin Chinese, with experience in business development, sales or event management. He or she should be an outgoing and flexible communicator. Links to Australia and/or New Zealand would be preferred. Experience in marketing, financial reports preparation, general office administration, social media and related software/applications is a plus.
